PROMOTION OF THE “GOOD PRACTICE” MODELS OF CIVIC PARTICIPATION IN DECISION MAKING IN SERBIAN LOCAL COMMUNITIES

The aim of this project is to contribute to the development of participatory democracy in Serbia by promoting positive experiences of citizens’ participation in decision making on the local level (case studies of good practice). The set up objectives are: a) to identify examples of good practice; b) to analyze collected examples of good practice in terms of the issues addressed, involved participants and their roles, initiators of action, process of decision making, obstacles and ways used to overcome them, and outcomes; c) to compile various forms of promotion messages (and instructions) for various media and various target groups; d) to widely promote the cases of positive participatory practice in order to enable citizens and all other relevant audiences (local NGOs in particular) to change accustomed patterns of behavior by learning from the models of efficient practice.
